Your article demonstrates how parents can turn kids into objects of happiness, loading up the kids with the job of making the parents happy. In this culture, everyone is looking outside for happiness, expecting something or someone outside to make them happy. That’s what this hypervigilance teaches.

I’m a fan of lazy parenting myself and have employed it very well. Hopefully, that trend will pick up for children do the job of growing up just fine as long as the parents get out of the way.
