Wow. I just got a short education on stoicism. I consider myself to be stoic, but after reading your article, I need to find a better word to describe myself. I’m not into subjecting myself to pain or suffering like the people you describe here.

I don’t believe we must subject ourselves to suffering. I do believe that happiness is a decision that we make, every minute, every hour, every day — for months and years on end — if we want to be happy.

I do appreciate the perspective you bring here. I have a better sense now of what people in Silicon Valley are doing with their brains.
