The Tea Leaves Say Israel Can Escalate Its Way Out of a War With Hamas
Ukraine might disagree. God would like a word.
The war is not going well in Israel. Israelis don’t have anything close to peace. They have spent billions this year, just to wipe out their favorite nemesis, Hamas. They’re not even close, and thousands of other people are willing to join with Hamas to further the cause for the people of Palestine.
Israel has destroyed tens of thousands of buildings and structures in Gaza. A very conservative estimate says Israel has killed at least 40,000 human beings in its war. More pessimistic estimates say that Israel has killed upwards of 200,000 people in Gaza alone, in less than a year. Still, the Israelis do not have peace.
All year long, and since October 7th of last year, Israel has been escalating the conflict. Israel is not interested in negotiations, but they are interested in recovering the hostages taken by Hamas, dead or alive. It doesn’t seem to matter to the Israeli government if they’re dead or alive. Once the hostages are found, dead or alive, the Israel Defense Force can really unload.
