Slavery is the Lowest Common Denominator of Our Conflicts

A lack of informed consent implies slavery.

So I see this a lot. Slavery. All over the world. There is always someone who wants someone else to do the work. For free. Or maybe not for free, at a discount. Even at a discount, if force is implied, it’s slavery.

Sometimes I wonder if our definition of slavery is too weak.

Israel has a few people who don’t mind slavery, and they aren’t slaves. I say this only because I spent some time connecting the dots. I will admit my bias, but I’d rather be wrong about slavery in Israel than right.

And yes, I know that slavery is a real obvious problem in the countries that surround Israel. I just have a hard time accepting that Israel is a “democracy” when slavery is a measurable, quantifiable problem there.
