I believe that Bernie can help on all of those fronts, but as he has said many times, he cannot do it alone. Bernie can act as a force of coherency for the 99%. Bernie can amplify the voices of the 99%. But in the end, Bernie needs all of us to be speaking, writing and articulating the voices of the 99% so that better public policy can be made.

As to whether Bernie can be bought, I have a high degree of confidence that he cannot. Considering his relatively small net worth — compared to the rest of Congress — and based on the reports I’ve seen so far, he doesn’t seem to spend too much time trying to accumulate wealth. That suggests he has more room in his consciousness for the rest of us.

I was not aware of Marianne Willamson’s candidacy. I have heard of her name, but do not know much about her. I will watch that video and do some research on her as well. I’m happy to see a wide range of candidates join the fray.

I am of the persuasion that not “just any Democrat” will do. For you to suggest Williamson then, I would think you found something exceptional about her. Thanks for keeping your comment about her limited, for that sparked my curiosity and allows me to draw my own conclusions.

One way or another though, the progressives are rising and they will meet the challenges posed by the neoliberals determined to fashion public policy to their own liking, for their own benefit. Trump, also a neoliberal, has been the spark to disturb the sleeping giant demographic, the Millennials. Hopefully, saner and younger minds will prevail in 2020.
