NATO Is Still Escalating the War in Ukraine and It's Not Working
If Russia has backed down, it’s hard to tell.
Unbelievably, there is talk of lifting the restrictions that have been imposed on Ukraine that prevent Ukraine from launching high precision, long range missiles into Russia. If such a decision were made, it must assume competence and responsibility on the part of Ukraine, two attributes of Ukraine that are painfully absent.
The idea, it seems, is to scare Russia into negotiating with Ukraine. You know, as if a direct hit to Moscow would cow the Russians into submission. Even after the headlines flew about this pending decision, Russia doesn’t seem any more willing to call for a ceasefire than it had been before this escalation.
From what I can gather, the UK has already given the green light. Not sure about the US yet, but if it has, it’s a secret. NATO and multiple generals in the American armed forces are backing escalation. They’re trying to get a consensus from leadership in the member countries, too.
Absent from the decision making process is the rest of us, the people who do the work that keeps our nations running.
