I think we have to make a lot of assumptions in life. Like that the sun will rise tomorrow. That there is a floor under my bed.

I suppose what I mean to say is if you want happiness, you keep your expectations low and discard expectations that no longer serve you.

I've made a habit of doing that, of noticing when expectations work for me and discarding expectations that don't. Whatever expectations that I do have, I keep them low.
