How Biden’s Fistbump With Mohammed bin Salman Distracts Us From Saudi Arabia’s Alignment With Russia

The bias of the mainstream press is showing. For the last few days, I’ve seen tons of coverage and bloviation about President Joe Biden’s fist bump with a leader of a brutal dictatorship, Mohammed bin Salman (affectionately referred to as “MBS”, by the press).

My two cents? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen a president do. It’s also a huge distraction from another problem with Saudi Arabia. They’re not exactly friends with America.

They’re friends with Russia.

There is another problem with the picture of Biden fist bumping with MBS. MBS has been tied to the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Istanbul consulate.

Why is the president visiting MBS? He went there to negotiate for lower oil prices even though Saudi oil imports are only 5% of US oil demand. We can’t get that 5% from someone else? We can’t produce that oil ourselves? This is odd considering that America was a net oil exporter last year.

Maybe Joe Biden visited MBS out of concern for the arms deals between Russia and…
