Come 2024, We Could Do Without Any Incumbents Or Former Presidents Running for President

Please kick out the old guard and bring in some people with a future to work for.

So I noticed a couple of converging trends. Both of them were headlined by the New York Times and confirmed independently by other news agencies. 2/3rds of Democrats don’t want Joe Biden to run again. Hallelujah! On the other side, Half of the Republicans in a recent poll said they are ready to move on from Trump. Huh. Someone is waking up.

I would love to see Biden and Trump retire with Obama in Martha’s Vineyard. I can just smell the barbecues now.

The fact that the polling is so dour for Trump and Biden is significant. Now I have hope that we’re finally seeing the end of the kids of “The Greatest Generation” and their unrelenting hold on national power. God forbid the Democrats or Republicans should try to eke out another dynasty kid campaign headed by someone with a last name like Clinton or Bush.

If the polling is accurate, Joe Biden would be doing all of us a favor by stepping down, despite his claimed intention to run. We don't need another 4 years of Joe Biden. Really.
