Abusive men don’t just affect women. They affect boys and men. I’m a man and I have seen abusive men in action. I’ve seen men hire other men just to fire them the same day. I’ve seen grown men physically abuse their own boys. I have known men who fought physically and verbally with their brothers when they were kids, and their parents did nothing to stop it. That kind of behavior is to me, where totalitarian governments are born.

I’m middle aged now. I have two girls and a wife. I have power, but I’m a gentleman. I am gentle with my power. I choose to err on the side of peace at all times.

I agree with you that abusive men are pervasive and that they do great harm. But there are many of us men, who are just doing the best we can to keep the peace. We are teaching our kids, boys and girls, what respect, courtesy and kindness look like. We are modeling that to our kids and to their friends.

If you’re looking for change, it must start from the bottom up, with our kids.
